Senior Software Engineer (magento 2)

Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Magento 2 Developer to join our e-commerce engineering team. You'll work across multiple sites and systems, delivering robust, scalable solutions and contributing to continuous improvements in code quality, performance, and technical processes.

You'll work alongside other developers, QA, DevOps, and product stakeholders to shape high-quality e-commerce features that support business growth and customer satisfaction.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:



Strong commercial experience with Magento 2 Open Source (Adobe Commerce experience is a bonus). Hands-on experience with Hyva theme and a good understanding of modern frontend performance optimisation. Solid understanding of Magento architecture, including modules, plugins, observers, service contracts, and dependency injection. Experience writing unit and integration tests as part of your normal development process. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps workflows. Working knowledge of event-driven architecture and message queues, ideally RabbitMQ. Experience with profiling tools (e.g. Blackfire) for identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks. Comfortable working with Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js in Magento frontend development. Solid experience working in Agile teams, contributing to sprints, participating in ceremonies, and working collaboratively with product and QA. Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and peer collaboration. Magento 2 certification(s) (nice to have).

WHAT YOU'LL DO:



Develop and maintain Magento 2 features and modules across multiple storefronts. Contribute to Hyva theme development, writing clean and efficient frontend code. Identify and solve performance issues at both application and server level. Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical workshops. Work closely with lead engineers to define and follow architectural standards and development best practices. Collaborate with QA, Product Owners, and DevOps to ensure features are tested, documented, and deployable. Write unit tests, support automated testing pipelines, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team. Take ownership of your own deliverables while supporting team goals.
