About this opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Software Engineer to work on the Core Banking System which aims to support around 30 million customers and 60 million accounts

You\'ll be part of Everyday Banking in Consumer Relationships Platform working in the Vault Banking Products lab. The lab is focusing on building new core banking platform that will support servicing our customers through multiple channels and will enable the bank to create new innovative products for our customers using cutting edge cloud based technology platform.

What you\'ll do

Working with the most modern technology to deliver innovative solutions for our customers

Hands-on designing and developing the new banking platform as well as integrating with heritage banking systems

Working in an agile environment, alongside colleagues from both LBG and third party companies, both on and off-shore

Mentoring junior team members including code reviews, problem solving, development and code standards including security standards

Working within a strict QE-led methodology, delivering high quality software supported by fully automated testing frameworks

Creating opportunities for your own learning and growth, as well as sharing finding with your peers

Deploying developed applications using set tools and pipelines to all environments including production hosting on container based cloud platforms.

What you\'ll need

Core Java development skills

Microservices architecture

Good understanding of design patterns and build activities across the SDLC including unit testing, system testing, integration, security and performance testing

Relentless focus on delivering business value through sound engineering methods and principles

Working experience with Kafka for event driven communication between services

Additional bonus:

Experience in Cloud Applications

Docker based container development and deployment on Kubernetes

Understanding of CI/ CD methodology and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Spinnaker etc

Experience in Automated testing and TDD
