About the role


We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer (.NET) to join our Ascenti Digital team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is key to building and improving the platforms that power our clinical services and patient experience across the UK.


As a senior engineer, you'll take ownership of key components within our patient management system, leading the design and delivery of new applications and product features using ASP.NET, C#, React, and supporting technologies. You'll also contribute to architectural decisions, support agile processes, and help shape the future of our digital roadmap.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone with deep full-stack development experience, strong .NET expertise, and a desire to mentor others while delivering meaningful technical outcomes in the healthcare space.


What you'll be doing


As a Senior Software Engineer (.NET), you'll:

Lead on the design, implementation, and delivery of new features and system improvements. Take technical ownership of product components, advising on future enhancements and architecture. Maintain and improve our existing patient management system, ensuring robustness and scalability. Support and mentor junior software engineers, promoting best practices and clean coding standards. Work cross-functionally with stakeholders and teams to align technical delivery with business goals. Contribute to our agile development processes and support data-driven decision-making. Innovate and iterate on new product ideas that enhance user experience and system performance. Assist with wider digital and transformation initiatives across the business as needed.

Knowledge, experience, and qualificationsStrong working knowledge of .NET/ ASP.NET/ Web API. Strong C# skills. Strong SQL Server skills. Strong working knowledge of TypeScript / JavaScript. Knowledge of Cloud technologies - Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS). Building Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Solid understanding of modern architectures for developing applications and websites. Full stack development with experience of managing systems across the front and back ends. History of working in agile software development teams. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent professional experience. * Proven track record delivering websites and/or windows applications
