Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work on core platform-level services that are essential to all of our cloud-supported products. You'll gain deep domain and product knowledge, collaborating with multiple teams across the business. The APIs you'll build will be highly scalable and present a variety of technical challenges. We make extensive use of GitHub Copilot to help deliver high-quality, maintainable code. You'll also have opportunities to lead projects, working closely with architects and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.




Role Summary:




As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend), you will be responsible for designing, building, enhancing, and maintaining products and systems aligned with Sage's business goals and architectural standards. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, scalable solutions that exceed customer and business expectations, while also sharing expertise on technical solutions and business processes within your domain.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality backend systems and APIs.




- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to shape robust solutions.




- Lead and contribute to the delivery of projects from concept to deployment.




- Drive technical innovation and adopt modern tools, frameworks, and practices.




- Mentor and coach junior team members.




- Maintain clear technical documentation and ensure code quality standards are met.




- Champion Agile best practices and foster a collaborative team culture.






Essential Skills (Must-Haves):




- Strong experience with C#, .NET Framework, and MySQL, delivering reliable and scalable solutions.




- Microservices




- Event-driven architecture




- Proven ability to collaborate across functions, including Product Management, QA, and other business units.




- Solid working knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with a focus on iterative development and continuous improvement.






Secondary Skills (Nice-to-Haves):




- BDD (Behavior-Driven Development)




- AWS (Amazon Web Services)
