KuasaSemi is an innovative start-up technology business, and provider of advanced semiconductor design solutions. Semiconductors, or "chips" are the foundation of modern computing and are used extensively in devices such as smartphones and laptops. Semiconductors are also critical when it comes to sustainability, being required for power electronic circuits used in electric vehicles and renewable energy generation.

KuasaSemi's business is developing and selling Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) software. TCAD software is used to design and simulate semiconductor devices helping design engineers to optimise performance, reliability and yield. This software significantly reduces the costs associated with prototyping designs, and therefore is extremely valuable to companies in this industry.

About the role

KuasaSemi is seeking experienced, adaptable engineers ready to take on a pivotal role in a growing technology company. You will join a small, dynamic team developing a cutting-edge simulation platform for advanced semiconductor technologies. Your role will span from core software design and development to numerical methods, user interface implementation, and engagement in R&D-driven innovation projects. You'll have a direct hand in building a professional software product from the ground up, influencing both technical decisions and product direction.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

Lead and contribute to all phases of the software lifecycle: requirements gathering, architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Make informed technology and architecture decisions, including selection of development frameworks, libraries, and toolchains. Design and implement scalable, maintainable software solutions -- from numerical solvers to user interfaces. Develop and maintain DevOps processes, including build automation, testing, deployment pipelines, and version control workflows. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to team members, customers, and stakeholders. Occasional travel as required.

Skills

We are looking for engineers with a strong technical foundation, proven problem-solving ability, and a proactive mindset. Relevant skills include:

Degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Strong mathematical background, especially in linear algebra and numerical methods. Proven experience in software architecture and design. Expertise in one or more of C#, C++, or Fortran. Experience developing desktop applications, ideally with WPF/XAML/MVVM. Familiarity with parallel programming, performance tuning, and scalable software design. Hands-on experience with modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Self-driven and capable of working independently.
Desirable

Experience with numerical methods and/or finite element analysis (FEA). Knowledge of semiconductor physics, power electronics, or device modelling. Experience with TCAD tools or semiconductor simulation. Interest in applied R&D, product development, and customer-centric engineering. Leadership experience in a software development or research environment.

Salary

The salary range 40k-55K (Annual)

All KuasaSemi salaries are determined by role-related knowledge and skills, depth of experience, relevant education or training, and additional role-related considerations.
