Senior Software Engineer

EU - FT Perm

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be an integral member of our Rightsholder Engineering (RHE) team. Your primary focus will be on designing, developing and maintaining backend services that facilitate the licensing of rightsholder content to both individuals and enterprise customers. You'll leverage your technical expertise to build highly efficient services that manage musical metadata and licensing.



You'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of our services, from conceptualization and design to deployment and ongoing support. This position requires a deep understanding of complex business logic within a specialized domain, applying technology to optimize operations and enhance data integrity. Additionally, a strong understanding of process automation and workflow management is critical.

Team

The RHE team operates at the intersection of various technical and business functions. We are the glue that connects Songtradr's Ingestion and Delivery pipeline with the Frontend services supporting rightsholders and consumers. Primarily focused on backend microservices and business workflows, the RHE team also contributes to frontend code and APIs when necessary. We do a little bit of everything.



Therefore, the ideal candidate will not only possess strong software engineering skills but also demonstrate comfort and proficiency in navigating frequently shifting priorities and contexts. This includes seamless transitions between different projects, codebases, and stakeholder requirements.

Main Job Duties

Your role would include, but not be limited to the following:

Design, develop, and maintain backend services that facilitate the licensing of rightsholder content to both individuals and enterprise customers. Translate complex business processes into repeatable and observable automated workflows. Proactively contribute to enhancing our developer experience. Communicate with stakeholders to clarify product and business requirements. Collaborate with other Engineering teams to ensure solutions adhere to the broader Engineering strategy. Contribute to knowledge sharing and training initiatives within the Engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Desired Skills & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related area.. 5+ years experience with NodeJS and Typescript. Advanced knowledge of Express or other web framework. Advanced knowledge of SQL, PostgreSql preferred. Experience with microservice architecture. Experience with workflow orchestration and process automation concepts. Familiarity with Ruby/Rails a plus. Familiarity with GQL a plus. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to present technical information to other engineers and product personnel. Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven insights.
