Salary:

Circa 55,000


What you'll be doing:




Investigate issues found in our systems to understand what changes might need to be made to allow the affected function or service to run as expected

Modify the existing domain configurations, scripts and software applications as required to ensure that the systems run as expected through development and on to delivery into our platforms

Design and develop new aspects of our product domain configurations, scripts and software suite to include new or changed requirements on the system design through development and on to delivery into our platforms

Raise observation reports, execute changes, witness, test and close out those changes with guidance from the area technical lead / team lead as directed

The successful candidate will be expected to report accurately on progress, issues encountered, to aid the team lead in reporting effectively through the management chain

The person in role will be expected to be self-starting, self-motivated and competent in their core investigative skillset, researching relevant areas when required if an answer is not immediately obvious

Your skills and experiences:





Essential:


Experience in Windows domain configuration, active directory, common ports and protocols

Experience in Windows operating systems and basic networking

Familiarity with virtualisation technologies (VMWare, vSphere)

Core scripting (PowerShell preferred) or coding (Visual Studio, C# preferred) experience


Desirable:


Experience in, systems and software development in complex real-time systems

An awareness of requirements and the methods of requirement validation

Software design and configuration management competencies

An interest in the concepts of software security

The Security team:





The Security Team is a software team that provides both a software application suite and a windows domain configuration which is delivered into multiple products and product variants. The configuration for each system is tailored to be run in such a way so as to meet security requirements that allow them to be accredited for deployment onto operational platforms.



As a Senior Software Security Engineer will be responsible for the development, integration, test and maintenance of the software security component for the projects we support. This is a senior software engineering role for a self-motivated, investigative-minded person who is keen and has the skillset to find resolution to common problems running software within a windows domain environment.
