Transforming Justice Sector Tenders into Wins

About G4S Care & Rehabilitation Services (CaRS)

G4S CaRS is committed to the rehabilitation of offenders across our secure training centre, four prisons, and various community contracts in England and Wales. Our core philosophy is to equip service users with the skills needed for successful societal re-integration, fostering a safe environment for both our staff and those in our care.

The Role: Senior Solution Architect

G4S Care & Rehabilitation Services (CaRS) is seeking a highly experienced Senior Solution Architect to join our Business Development Team. You will be instrumental in transforming Justice Sector tenders into Wins. This role is a unique blend of strategic solution design, operational translation, and high-stakes bid writing in a heavily regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

You will report to the Senior Proposals Manager and collaborate closely with senior leaders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and regional teams to design and articulate winning solutions.

1. Strategic Solution Design & Content Leadership

Operational Translation: Work with SMEs to transform complex operational prison models (e.g., security, rehabilitation, healthcare) into clear, compelling, and compliant tender responses. Win Theme Development: Define and embed clear value propositions and "win themes" across the entire proposal to achieve maximum quality scores. Narrative Ownership: Lead the full content strategy, facilitating storyboarding sessions to establish the "Golden Thread" linking client requirements to CaRS' unique capabilities. Executive Summaries: Draft high-impact, synthesis-driven Executive Summaries for senior evaluators. Continuous Improvement: Integrate lessons learned and MoJ feedback into future bid responses.

2. Quality Assurance & Compliance

Strict Adherence: Ensure absolute compliance with all MoJ specifications, word counts, and formatting rules to prevent disqualification. Rigorous Editing: Perform detailed line-editing and proofing for clarity, technical accuracy, grammar, and consistent "one-voice" tonality across the submission. Evidence Base: Maintain and build a robust library of evidence, statistics, and case studies related to key performance indicators (e.g., reoffending rates, safety audits). Review Coordination: Manage internal proposal reviews, efficiently incorporating feedback while protecting the integrity of the core narrative.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration & Knowledge Management

SME Engagement: Confidently interview and collaborate with technical experts, extracting critical information and converting technical jargon into accessible, benefit-led prose. Capability Showcasing: Develop high-quality case studies demonstrating G4S's track record. Market Intelligence: Contribute to ongoing research into clients, competitors, and market trends.

About You

We are looking for a tenacious, resilient, and confident professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Essential Experience & Skills:

In-depth operational experience and knowledge of custodial facilities is crucial. Extensive current or previous experience in a similar Senior Solution Architect or bid writing role, specifically within the public sector tender landscape. Proven ability to translate dry, complex technical information into persuasive, benefit-led narrative. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to Board Directors and operational teams. Strong proficiency in IT, including Google Workspace, Bid Management Software, and Microsoft Packages.

Personal Attributes:

Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines. Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working autonomously. Flexible and adaptable to evolving requirements and scenarios. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and challenge where necessary.
