About the role

Coventry Building Society have an exciting new role for a Senior Solutions Architect - InfoSec, to join CIDO.



This is a key role within the Architecture team, playing a critical role in the Enterprise Solution Delivery (ESD) providing an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in an agile product-based environment, ideally within the SAFe framework.




You will be a significant contributor within a small team of specialist information security architects working on projects and products with high strategic impact. You will have experience defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision across a Solution Train or equivalent in non-SAFe Enterprises; more generally you will act confidently as a direction setter and subject matter expert, engaging positively with key business and technical stakeholders. You will be responsible for providing security related architectural direction, expertise and leadership at the Portfolio level.



This role has a requirement to work in the office for 2 days per week as a minimum. This can be shared between Manchester and Coventry.


About you

You'll be partnering with Enterprise Architects to help them elaborate Epics and Capabilities - Recommending security design within several product teams, across multiple portfolios; collaborating with the EAs on the portfolio Development Value Streams.



Collaborating within the security architecture team ensuring security initiatives are coordinated across the Enterprise, assisting in the delivery of the Information Security strategy. Have and maintain a high level of security architecture expertise to make and influence important business and architectural decisions, defining the Info-Sec element of solution vision, solution road-map and the capabilities to meet them.



Define & prioritise the enablers for the established Architectural Runways for programme backlogs and collaborating with other Architects with the Solution Backlogs. Establishes and supports definition of security related Non-functional Requirements and partners with other Architects and engineers to research, identify, validate and elaborate security related technologies and features



Actively supports design and steering of Continuous Delivery pipeline whilst working with Solution Management to align Suppliers and Portfolios on what to build and how. Fosters Built-in Quality for the entire Solution across the Portfolio systems. Plays a critical role in Pre-Post PI planning events, and Agile Release Train and Solution Train Inspect and Adapt (I&A) workshops. Establishes the security related content of the Solution Intent repository



To be successful in this role, it's essential that you're able to demonstrate:




Experience with identity services, AD migration and Entra ID. The ability to identify and triage information security risk Understanding of compliance legislation and regulations such as UK Data Protection Act 2018 / GDPR and PCI DSS, and broader Information Security Laws and Regulation. Be able to articulate common attack Tools, Tactics and Procedures (TTP's) used by likely threats to a UK Financial Services company Significant experience delivering products, tools and services mitigating security risk Experience of Zero Trust Architecture

Desirable skills for this role are:




Professional Security accreditation such as CISSPs or SABSA Experience of implementing Public Cloud Security Architecture, ideally within AWS (Azure in addition is beneficial). Experience of designing and implementing Database security Experience with the major security tools such as SIEM, EDR, CASB, Firewalls, VPN, Secrets Management, and Pen Testing tooling. Experience of implementing Enterprise Identity and Access Management Solutions in support of an overarching IAM strategy Awareness of Software Development practices, tools and techniques, e.g. version control, CI/CD Previous Experience of working in a front-line IT (preferably security) operational team About us
