We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with experience in fine dining and catering environments. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation while leading and mentoring kitchen staff.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development to create innovative dishes that reflect our culinary vision.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and presentation guidelines.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels to minimize waste.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
Assist in catering events, managing food preparation and presentation for large groups.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
Skills
Proven experience in a culinary role with a focus on fine dining or catering.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Experience with menu planning, inventory management, and cost control within the kitchen environment.
Proficient in various cooking techniques and methods, demonstrating creativity in dish preparation.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
