Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to perfection while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Duties



Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations. Assist in food preparation and cooking, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and professional development. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and enhance existing offerings. Monitor food quality during preparation and service, making adjustments as necessary. Assist in managing kitchen schedules to ensure adequate staffing for peak service times.

Requirements



Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively. Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences. Previous experience in menu planning and cost control is advantageous.
