We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Day time shifts only. Must be available all weekend. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. Duties
Assist the head chef in managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including food preparation and cooking
Oversee food production to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met
Lead by example in food safety practices, hygiene standards, and adherence to health regulations
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Develop new menu items in collaboration with the culinary team
Support training programmes for junior staff to enhance skills and maintain team motivation
Ensure all dishes are prepared efficiently and served promptly to meet customer expectations
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
Experience
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively
Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings with a focus on culinary excellence
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent organisational skills
Previous experience serving or working in customer-facing roles is advantageous but not essential
