Wraxall Vineyard is looking for a Chef to join our Head Chef and experienced Hospitality Team, working closely together to deliver fabulous food from local produce in a sharing style and the best customer experience for all our visitors.

The View@Wraxall is a unique location and a fun and relaxed place to work, where we take on every new challenge with a smile! March to December is when we are at our busiest, and during the Summer months we welcome our highest visitor numbers and host the majority of our Private Events.

This is an opportunity for someone to build upon and develop their career, using quality seasonal Somerset produce.

This role would work for any level of experience providing you have

:

Accredited Chef qualification preferred but not essential.

Food hygiene level 2 qualification preferred but not essential.

Proven experience in a commercial kitchen.

Keen to grasp the opportunity and wanting to learn more.

Thrive when working as an integral member of a team.

Great communicator.

Someone who is passionate about cooking and takes pride in their work!

The role will include but not limited to:



Kitchen Management:



Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. Manage kitchen workflow and ensure efficiency during service.

Food Preparation & Quality Control:



Prepare and cook dishes to high standards. Ensure food quality and consistency in taste and presentation. Serve as the final quality check for dishes before they reach the customer.

Staff Management & Training:



Train and supervise junior kitchen staff. Assist with creating staff schedules and conducting performance reviews. Foster a positive and efficient team environment.

Inventory & Supplies:



Track inventory, manage food stock, and order necessary supplies. Monitor and control food costs to maintain budget.

Menu Development & Planning:

Assist the Head Chef in planning and developing new menus and dishes. Help establish product specifications and standards for menu items.

Working Week:



5 shifts a week (wed-sun) to include 2 or 3 evenings plus events with 2 consecutive days off.

7-8 hour shifts

To work alongside our junior sou and commit chef.

Civilised hours, providing a great work life balance!

20 days holiday, including Christmas day! (Some of which would be ideally taken in the shoulder seasons).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 25,000.00-32,000.00 per year
