Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist (elective Orthopaedics)

Job Description

As a HCPC registered Senior Specialist Occupational therapist supporting Orthopaedic patients at the Trafford Elective Surgical Hub (TESH) you will be responsible for supporting orthopaedic patients pre-and post operatively and be part of the senior team working at TESH.



Working collaboratively with senior colleagues you will support the delivery of pre-operative education sessions and interventions and also support inpatients at TESH with their therapy interventions and discharge from hospital. You will have opportunity for team leadership and service improvement and development in an evolving service.



You will be supported by Band 7 colleagues and a Clinical Lead therapist. Also by an OT Professional Lead and peer group on site at TGH.



We're looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and forward-thinking Occupational Therapist to be part of our senior team working with Orthopaedic patients at TESH.



You will need to be flexible and committed to delivering high-quality, patient focused care with experience of working with orthopaedic patients at a senior level and delivering group sessions beneficial.



The role requires you to work across 7 days and also support twilight shifts working up to 8pm on weekdays.



Strong leadership skills are essential to compliment your advances occupational therapy knowledge and skills. This will enable you to coordinate and monitor the caseload, and manage work with both outpatients and inpatients. You will provide supervision, leadership and teaching to the occupational therapy team and non-registered Band 3 and 4 staff.
