We are seeking an experienced and motivated

Senior Speech and Language Therapist

to join a multidisciplinary team within a school-based setting in

Hemel Hempstead

. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their communication potential in an educational environment.



The Role






As Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a key role in the assessment, intervention, and strategic development of speech and language therapy provision across the school. You will work closely with teaching staff, families, and other professionals to ensure integrated, child-centred support.

already calculated on a pro rata basis

Key Responsibilities


Deliver high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children and young people with speech, language, communication, and associated needs Lead and develop therapy programmes aligned with educational outcomes Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and support to junior therapists or assistants Contribute to EHCPs, reports, and outcome-focused reviews Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and multidisciplinary professionals Support staff training and whole-school communication strategies Ensure practice is evidence-based and compliant with professional standards

Requirements


HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist Significant post-qualification experience, ideally within a school or paediatric setting Experience working with complex needs (e.g. ASD, developmental language disorder, SEMH, learning difficulties) Confidence in leading clinical practice and supporting others Strong report-writing and communication skills Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
