Responsibilities:

This is a technical role, leading the scale-up of our electrolyser stack, translating from our large lab prototypes into a pilot-scale kW system. Building on from the work done by our scientists in the lab, you will incorporate the best design practices and industry standards into our electrolyser, building the appropriate stack architecture and leading the manufacture, assembly, and operation of this stack. This will involve not only mechanical design and modelling of the electrolyser, but also the ability to interface with stack components suppliers, engineering and scientific team members, and external partners to bring together the electrolyser design with the appropriate balance of plant, controls, and integration into our full system. The ideal candidate will have experience with stack design and operation, ideally with PEM electrolyser stacks, along with a strong theoretical understanding of the fluid dynamics, thermal management, and gas handling needed for scaled-up electrochemical systems. They will also bring experience with safe operation of electrolyser stacks, including ownership of the risks and safety profile of the stack and integration into the safety of the overall pilot plant. You'll be based primarily at our industrial scale up site in West London. Whilst we do allow flexible working, this role will require a significant amount of time in person building and operating our electrolyser systems.

Requirements:

5+ years engineering background with experience in electrochemical stacks (electrolyser, fuel cell, redox flow) Designed and operated a 100 kW or equivalent electrochemical system Hands on experience with kW scale PEM electrochemical systems or similar Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermal management, solid mechanics, and gas handling for electrochemical or similar fluid systems Experience with computer aided design (CAD) and manufacturing/procurement of electrochemical stack components Experience interacting with suppliers for electrochemical stack components

What you get:

* In return, you'll have access to state-of-the-art facilities, flexible working hours, and a flat management structure; where trust and equality are at our core. We offer a competitive compensation package including an equity stake and the opportunity to shape both your own future and that of the company.
