Day to day responsibility for the management and allocation of duties to all nursing and care staff whilst on duty and on- call. Assisting with the day-to-day running of the home, including when manager is on leave.

As a senior nurse your role will include week day and some weekend on call as part of a shared rota with the senior nurse team and management.

To lead a team of care staff that provides excellence and allocation in clinical practice, and ensures that residents rights to privacy, dignity, choice, autonomy and safety are actively promoted at all times.

To supervise and monitor care practices, to ensure the consistent provision of the highest quality of care to residents.

To take responsibility for the supervision and mentorship of new qualified staff and carers.

To undertake all appropriate aspects of nursing care required including advanced clinical skills as required following appropriate training.

Summary

As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of those under your supervision. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will utilise your core skills in patient care, anatomy knowledge, and medication administration to assess patient needs and implement effective treatment plans. Your role will also involve mentoring junior staff and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
