At INITION, we're not just making better batteries - we're reinventing how they're made. We're looking for a passionate and hands-on Statutory and Business Accountant to join our pioneering team in Oxford and play an integral role in building our finance department from the ground up.

What You'll Do:

Play a pivotal role in shaping and scaling the finance department, establishing the systems, controls, and best practices that will support our ambitious growth. Take full ownership of the statutory accounting and reporting processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards (UK and Irish GAAP/IFRS). Prepare and file all statutory accounts, tax returns (VAT, Corporation Tax), and other regulatory submissions accurately and on time. Act as a key team member, to work directly with the Co- founders providing insightful financial analysis and support to drive efficiency and informed decision-making. Develop and implement robust financial controls and processes to support our rapid growth. Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and the development of our long-term financial strategy.

What You'll Bring:

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in a UK accountancy practice is essential. A professional accounting qualification ACA / ACCA / CIMA, (fully qualified). Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience Proven experience: Minimum 4-5 years in a statutory or financial accounting role, with a strong understanding of UK GAAP/Irish GAPP, IFRS and business finance. A "hands-on" and proactive approach, with a demonstrable history of process improvement and a desire to build. Excellent business partnering skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships with non-finance stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. A passion for technology and a desire to be part of a company making a real-world impact. Experience in a start-up, scale-up, or high-growth manufacturing/technology environment is a significant plus.
