We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team at HMP Altcourse, a Category B prison in Liverpool..
This role offers the chance to work in a secure healthcare environment, supporting individuals with drug and/or alcohol dependencies while providing clinical leadership to a small, dedicated Substance Misuse team. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and contributing to positive health outcomes within the custodial setting.
Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• 7:00am - 5:00pm
• 4 shifts per week
• 1 in 3 weekends required

Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to 49,175 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day management of a small SMS team
• Manage and support patients with substance misuse needs
• Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based practice
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.

Essential Criteria:

• Experience managing patients with drug and/or alcohol dependencies
• Previous experience leading or supervising a team
• Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
• Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.

Desirable Criteria:

• Prison healthcare experience (desirable but not essential)
• Non-medical prescribing qualification

Please note: Non-medical prescribing will be considered for the successful candidate following a minimum of 12 months' service, if not already held.
