Our Riverside facility sits in the Fresh Pork division and is a sister site to our primary processing facility in Preston, Hull. We are currently recruiting a Senior Supervisor (Days) to oversee the running of the Despatch Operation, supported by the Despatch Supervisors, Chargehands, and Operatives. The Senior Supervisor will effectively and efficiently manage daily operations of Despatch department, whilst maximising profitability, reducing waste, and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
Manage the efficient and productive operation of the Despatch department on a day to day basis
Ensure that all products are despatched in a timely manner and according to customer requirements
Investigate any failure to achieve the agreed targets and to implement any corrective action required
Maintain quality and legality of product in line with customer specifications and standards, ensuring GMP and technical requirements are adhered to
Work closely with Department Managers to investigate ways of improving product quality
Ensure that Supervisors are working to achieve the agreed KPI targets in relation to staffing levels, costs, absences and skills levels
Maintain appropriate levels of staff and ensuring that wage bills are commensurate with output
Resolve any issues with customers such as complaints and queries
Deliver on key performance indicators including; people, quality, health, safety and environment, cost optimistation, customer service and project delivery
Objectively assess the team's performance and develop improvement plans
Ensure clarity of role for team members, including assigning of tasks, coaching and providing feedback
Assume responsibility for the management of activities which ensure food safety, integrity, legality and quality
Ensure adherence to all standards and processes relating to CCP monitoring, glass, complaints, label verifications and other paperwork in your area
Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, internal company policies and procedures, codes of practice, technical specifications, COSHH regulations and developments in H.A.C.C.P systems relevant to the department
Uphold good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety, with particular attention to temperature control and general hygiene
Review and update the training requirements of the department in line with current legislation and changing departmental operations
Ensure that all staff have been given the appropriate level of training necessary to carry out their work within legislative and Health and Safety guidelines
Effectively promote Health, Safety and Environmental awareness within your areas of control
Ensuring that all HSE information relevant to "preventative and protective measures" is communicated to your subordinates
Effectively manage energy and waste within the department
You Will Have:
Experience in a similar role - Warehouse/Factory (Senior) Supervisor/Team Leader/Experienced Chargehand
Experience leading a team (essential)
Examples of working towards KPIs and delivering positive results
Previous experience in a fast-moving consumer goods environment
Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
Effective communication skills
