At Leonardo, we have exciting opportunity for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, within our Supplier Quality Assurance Team in Edinburgh. This is a great opportunity to join our team and support business growth within Edinburgh.

The role will involve working with Operations, Project Managers, Customers, Design/Development teams, and Purchasing/Suppliers to satisfactorily meet our Customer requirements relating to the Products and Services provided by Leonardo UK. Key responsibility Areas:

  • Be an integral member of the UK Supplier Quality team specifically within the Mechanical and Optical categories and contribute to all aspects of Quality ensuring the success and completion of all allocated projects within the supply chain.
  • Engage with IPT\xe2\x80\x99s as early as possible in out NPI projects to use your skillset drive DfX and continuous improvement to avoid unnecessary product failures.
  • Utilise your skillset to aid in failure/material reviews and investigations in the Supply Chain.
  • Support capability assessments within the supply chain.
  • Use your knowledge of the supply chain to support our Integrated Project Teams in supplier selection.
  • Be fully aware and engaged with the Operational and IPT risks and opportunities and support, and take leadership where appropriate driving progress
  • Analyse and communicate information to support the escalation and clear communication of both supplier and IPT requirements to ensure correct decision-making
  • Take leadership, on all instances of Non Conformance and Failure and ensure situations are managed collectively to a dependable closure. This will be both internally within the business and with the external supply chain
  • Support and mentor more junior members of the Assurance Team

Skills, Qualifications and Knowledge Required:
  • Ideally a Bachelor\'s Degree [or equivalent] in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly "complex" industry.
  • Ability to read and understand technical requirements from a full manufacturing data pack. For example technical drawings, international specifications or technical data sheets.
  • Be able to demonstrate Governance, knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous improvement.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of Development and Design Assurance support to these stages of the lifecycle.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge in applying Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification, Validation and First Article Inspection.
  • Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that supports business goals, in \'the language of the business\'.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
  • Have effective time management, including prioritisation and escalation
  • Be able to demonstrate experience in working with Customers and Suppliers.
