The Promoting Independent Living Service (PILS) is a CQC Registered Service with a GOOD rating that supports citizens with learning disabilities to live independently within their own homes.
You will be one of the Senior Support Assistants at one of the properties we support which has 8 tenants all housed in their own flats and a staff team in it.

What is the job role?
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
As a Senior Support Assistant, you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support to our service users. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with service users, supporting them in the planning of goals and living as independently as possible, while leading a team of Support Assistants to achieve positive goals for our Service Users
Staff work together to develop Tenants' life skills enabling them to navigate all the challenges of living independently, with guidance, support, advice, and sometimes drawing on their own experiences.
The rewards of seeing Tenants achieve are so uplifting to all involved and are great motivation for the days that might not go to plan.
You will provide not only support to Tenants to develop their life skills, you will also have the responsibility of line management support to your team, holding regular supervision sessions with them along with regular team meetings Your good rota management skills will ensure that the tenancy is adequately staffed at all times, complete support plans, positive handling plans, audits, and Health & Safety checks at the properties.

If you have the skills to advise on life choices whilst ensuring the principles of the Mental Capacity Act, you may be the person that we are looking for.
The service cover is required 24/7, shifts work will be required. These can be a 7 am or 8 am start for an early shift. 2 pm - 4 pm if on a late shift finishing at 10 pm or 11 pm if on a sleep-in, meaning that you will sleep at the property over- night and begin work the following morning. You will work a rolling 6-week rolling rota pattern, including bank holidays, weekends, and sleeping-in shifts. You will have several identified office days where you can arrange for your supervisions etc to be completed. These are at our offices at Wilfred Spencer Centre, Whitaker Road and are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
