Senior Support Worker- Make Everyday Matter
Location:
Abingdon, Oxfordshire
Salary:
14.48 per hour plus Benefits
Hours:
37.5 hours per week (Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis. Please note, the shifts may vary due to the needs of the person we support)
Contract:
Full time, Permanent

What You'll Need

• Strong English communication skills (spoken & written)
• You'll have A QCF in Health & Social Care level 2 Diploma (or equivalent) with willingness to undertake a level 3 in Health & Social Care and demonstrate reasonable knowledge of regulatory standards for supported/residential living.
• Previous experience in a care/support setting
• A valid manual UK driving licence (Optional)
• The legal right to live and work in the UK

What You'll Be Doing

• Ability to lead by example, being professional, patient and calm under pressure -Supporting daily routines - from morning support to bedtime
• You'll supervise daily outputs and assist the manager in managing staff performance, development and appraisals
• Ensure the people, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality
• Work in accordance with SeeAbility's values

Who You'll Be Supporting

John* You'll be supporting John, a vibrant individual with complex needs who's moving into a specially adapted home.
John lives in a single occupancy home which is purposely adapted to meet his complex needs. He loves going out every Friday for KFC, also trips to cafes and going on drives. His dad is a big part of his life, so family involvement is key and often has family visiting him. When he is not out and about enjoying himself, he usually likes being at home listening to music(especially classical), Disney films, colouring, and outdoor fun like trampolining and swings in the garden. Routine is very important to James.

You'll be making a real impact with person who have:

• Learning disabilities, including using communication tools like Makaton or PECs
• Working with individuals with autism and/or visual impairments
• Experienced with behaviour that is highly challenged and applying Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies

Please Note:
**From January 2026 to end of March 2026, you'll need to travel to Birmingham (B38 area) during his transition before he moves to Drayton, Abingdon on April 2026. As his new home is being renovated for his person centred care and needs. We will pay towards travel during this transition period.
