About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced
Senior Support Worker
to join our friendly team within a
children's residential home
based in Hitchin.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes and develop life skills, while also leading and motivating a team of Support Workers to deliver the highest standard of care.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting children and young people in a nurturing and therapeutic environment, who is also looking to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day care and support for children and young people in accordance with their individual care plans.
Lead shifts and ensure smooth running of the home in the absence of senior management.
Support, mentor, and supervise other Support Workers.
Promote a safe, positive, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
Encourage independence, education, and emotional wellbeing.
Ensure compliance with
Ofsted
and
Children's Homes Regulations
.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
Actively contribute to team meetings and care planning.
Requirements
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
(or equivalent) - essential.
Previous experience working in a
children's residential home
(minimum 1-2 years preferred).
Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and care standards.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Compassionate, resilient, and committed to making a difference in young people's lives.
