We are a dedicated and compassionate children's residential home providing care and support to vulnerable young people with complex needs. Our goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive and achieve their potential. We are seeking a passionate and experienced senior residential support worker to join our dynamic team and work alongside the registered manager to reach the full potential of the home.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will work closely with the management team to ensure the smooth running of the home and provide direct support to the young people in your care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Leading and supervising a team of Residential Support Workers, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding are met.

- Developing care plans and working with external agencies (social workers, therapists, and schools) to support each young person's individual needs.

- Providing emotional and practical support to children and young people, helping them build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes.

- Managing challenging behaviour in a consistent, positive, and professional manner, using a trauma-informed approach.

- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies.

- Contributing to team meetings, staff training, and personal development opportunities.

- Assist with 1 day on call every 3 weeks.

What We're Looking For

- Experience of working in a children's residential setting, with experience in a senior or supervisory role. Or feel they are ready to step up into this role

Qualifications:

- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

- Knowledge: A strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, trauma-informed care.

- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage complex and challenging situations calmly and professionally.

- Commitment: A genuine passion for working with vulnerable children and young people and making a positive difference in their lives.

- Driving licence: Full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
