We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our team in Northampton. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in a care home setting. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to create care plans and other care documents, and a commitment to enhancing the well-being of our residents. As a Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for supervising your colleagues and leadig the shift when you are on duty. You shall ensure that you are the first point of call for our young people.
Responsibilities
Plan a shift and lead colleagues throughtout the day.
Work with the Home Manager to implemnent all chnages the home needs.
Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
Foster a supportive and engaging environment by encouraging social interaction and participation in activities.
Supervise and lead a team of junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Drive residents to appointments or community activities as required, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport.
Requirements
Leading a shift and communicating with various stakeholders.
Experience working in a care home or similar environment is preferred.
Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
Strong IT skills for maintaining records and communicating with team members.
Excellent communication skills to interact with residents, families, and colleagues.
Leadership qualities with experience in supervising staff or volunteers is an advantage.
A genuine passion for senior care and improving the quality of life for individuals in your care.
A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting residents when necessary.
