We're looking for a passionate, proactive, and practical

Senior Sustainability Advisor

to take the lead in environmental performance at one of Europe's most advanced concrete manufacturing facilities.



This is

not

a desk-only role. It's also

site-based

, immersive, and ideal for someone who thrives in operational environments, walking the factory floor, engaging with teams, and making real-time environmental improvements. If you've worked on-site and have

environmental

experience, even if your background isn't in carbon or social impact, we can help you grow those skills.

? What You'll Do





Working directly at our Explore Manufacturing facility in Worksop, you'll play a pivotal role in helping us meet environmental regulations, push forward decarbonisation initiatives, and embed circular economy principles into daily operations. You'll:


Lead and maintain

Environmental and Energy Management Systems

(ISO 14001 / ISO 50001) Ensure we stay fully compliant with

environmental regulations

, permits, and reporting Collect, analyse, and validate data across systems like

Intelex, Power BI, and Thrive

Track and report on

key sustainability metrics

, including energy use and carbon performance Drive

on-site culture change

by delivering sustainability briefings and toolbox talks Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams to find

practical environmental solutions

Help shape and deliver a

site-wide Social Value Plan

(we can upskill you in this if needed)

We're the off-site manufacturing arm of

Laing O'Rourke

, delivering Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) solutions. Sustainability is at the core of what we do, from reducing embodied carbon in precast concrete to decarbonising our operations through innovation and investment (including projects supported by the

Industrial Energy Transformation Fund

).


About You





We're looking for someone with

real-world environmental experience

, ideally from a site-based or operational background. You're not afraid to get stuck in, speak up, and drive change.


Must-Haves:




Solid understanding of

environmental legislation and compliance

Hands-on experience with

environmental audits, data, and reporting

Strong communicator who's comfortable working across site and leadership teams A practical, can-do attitude with a passion for driving sustainability on the ground

Nice-to-Haves (We Can Train the Right Person!):




Degree or equivalent in environmental science, sustainability, or related field Experience with

low-carbon manufacturing

or industrial decarbonisation Familiarity with

Intelex

,

Power BI

, or similar platforms Interest in developing

social and carbon

sustainability knowledge
