Project: Full-time, experienced sustainability manager required to support projects and programmes in Mace\xe2\x80\x99s defence and national security sector. This role is initially based at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. The successful candidate will join the existing Responsible Business team in the UK and deliver client-facing consultancy services including advisory, management and co-ordination of various environmental management, sustainability, and social value related activities. This role will support Mace\xe2\x80\x99s wider corporate ambitions to reduce client carbon emissions by 10 million tonnes, generate \xc2\xa3700m value to society, and deliver 500 hectares of new biodiversity net gain by 2026.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Directing the development of client climate change, sustainability and/or social value strategies on individual projects, including agreeing project outcomes and ensuring their delivery by the project team.
  • Being a technical expert and promote innovation in a particular area of sustainability, such as waste, energy/carbon, water, responsible sourcing of materials, sustainable buildings, etc.
  • Covering all key issues of sustainability with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting work winning through bid support, innovation, client liaison, and external profile-raising of Mace/Mace services.
  • Supporting the drive for Mace to be a leader in climate change and sustainability.
About you

You have excellent knowledge of sustainable building design, including embodied and operational carbon and energy reduction, in new build and refurbishment projects, including programme, cost and operational impacts of net zero carbon strategies. You have proven history of driving design teams to understand and respond to environmental constraints and opportunities to maximise positive environmental benefits.

You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have a construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer. #LI-Hybrid
