To support LUC's continued growth and success, we are adding a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to our growing and diverse, ambitious People and Culture team. The role would suit someone who has worked actively within recruitment either in-house or in a recruitment consultancy role.
The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for leading the full life-cycle recruiting efforts to attract, evaluate, and hire top talent across LUC. This role partners closely with hiring managers and senior leadership to design effective hiring strategies, improve recruiting processes, and ensure a positive candidate experience. The Senior Recruiter also plays a key role in employer branding and workforce planning initiatives.
The focus of the role will be finding fantastic people to fill a wide range of vacancies, from familiar admin roles, to niche technical professionals and Board level appointments. However, alongside this you will have the opportunity to get involved with projects to develop our long-term talent pipeline, engaging with education, careers events and our wider community of stakeholders.
Talent Acquisition & Hiring
Manage the full recruitment life cycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, and onboarding.
Develop and execute talent strategies to fill high-priority and specialized positions.
Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines through proactive sourcing methods.
Conduct detailed candidate assessments to ensure alignment with job requirements and organizational culture.
Stakeholder Partnership
Partner with hiring managers to define position requirements, selection criteria, and interview strategies.
Advise hiring managers on hiring best practices.
Process Optimization
Evaluate and refine recruiting processes to improve efficiency, quality of hire, and time-to-fill.
Maintain ATS accuracy, track recruiting metrics, and provide regular reporting to leadership.
Champion equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) initiatives and good practice within the hiring process.
Employer Branding
Represent the company at career fairs and networking events.
Contribute to employer branding strategies including social media and job advertising.
The role includes the opportunity to share and participate actively in the management and ownership of the business through the Employee Ownership Trust, which places full ownership of the company with the employees.
The role is based in LUC's offices in Bristol or London. We work in a hybrid model with people being in the office a minimum of two days per week. There will also be travel required to visit sites, client offices and other office locations.
A full-time role is based on 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). However, LUC has a strong track record in flexible working, and we have been recognised for our flexible working culture, so we are happy to discuss a range of flexible working options for this role including part time hours (minimum 30 hours per week) if desired.
Salary: 32,500 - 42,000 Dependent upon Experience (Plus 4k London Weighing if applicable)
Experience and qualifications
The Senior recruiter will have obtained a strong level of experience as a recruitment consultant and be confident in handling the full recruitment lifecycle. You will possess strong interviewing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills whilst having the ability to build long lasting relationships.
Essential
Demonstrated success sourcing passive candidates using modern tools including LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, direct advertising or approach, agencies, retained search.
Strong interviewing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Experience working with applicant tracking systems.
The ability to work efficiently and respond quickly to meet deadlines, whilst working on a number of projects simultaneously.
Recruitment/sales experience - either in-house or with a recruitment consultancy. This should be at a level where you can advise on most appropriate methods independently
Writing thoughtful, attractive and inclusive job descriptions and adverts to a high standard.
Strong communication skills - including the practical elements of keeping stakeholders updated and the ability to create great first impressions / relationships through considered and sincere engagement with colleagues and candidates.
Strong administrative and IT skills, with enthusiasm to learn new tools and systems. Competent use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook essential.

Desirable
Involvement or demonstrable passion for creating and organising career opportunities and experiences for those in education or seeking to enter careers in our sector.
Recruitment-focussed experience of visas and immigration administration desirable but not essential.
Experience of using an ATS / HR systems and software would be advantageous, but training will be provided anyway.
Experience of updating website / intranet content e.g. through Wordpress or Sharepoint.
Knowledge of our sector or similar consultancy business / built environment / professional services would be advantageous, but recruitment expertise and ability to grasp the requirements of a variety of roles is more important.
