We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Senior Tax Manager
to join our client's established and growing team at an independent firm of accountants. This is a fantastic opportunity for a tax professional who thrives in a client-focused environment and enjoys a varied workload across corporate and personal tax matters. Our client will consider candidates who are wanting to relocate for this role.
Responsibilities for the Senior Tax Manager role include:
Lead and manage the firm's tax department, reporting directly to the Partners
Provide high-level tax advice and planning to a broad portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and high-net-worth individuals
Dealing with corporate tax compliance work for the firm's larger and more complex clients
Working on advisory projects such as succession planning for businesses, profit extraction, sales and acquisitions, group reorganisations, capital allowances planning, share schemes and share valuations.
Review and sign off on complex tax computations and returns (corporate and personal)
Oversee and support junior members of the tax team, including training and development
Liaise with HMRC on client matters and manage any investigations or disputes
Keep up to date with relevant tax legislation and ensure compliance and best practice across the firm
Contribute to the growth of the firm by identifying new business opportunities and assisting with proposals and presentations to potential clients
Candidates applying for the Senior Tax Manager role will need:
ACA/ACCA and/or CTA qualified
Ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of proven experience in a senior tax role within an accountancy practice
You must be a self-starter and able to lead and project manage tax advisory work for SMEs and Owner Managed businesses
Strong technical knowledge across both corporate and personal tax
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships
Commercial awareness and the ability to spot opportunities for tax planning and advisory work
Leadership skills and experience of managing or mentoring junior staff
There are promotional opportunities available in this role to Tax Director
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Freelance
Pay: 60,000.00-70,000.00 per year
