The UCL Institute of Finance and Technology (IFT) currently sits within the UCL Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering. About the role

Under the direction of the Deputy Department Manager and in conjunction with relevant academic staff, the postholder will provide specialist administration to the Institute\xe2\x80\x99s teaching programmes, ensuring effective procedures are documented and adopted for dealing with all aspects of its administration.

This post will lead in achieving a high quality and timely service for current and prospective students, and staff relating to the designated courses/programmes and beyond.

The role will include management of all matters rselating to the teaching and learning activities of students from enquiry to completion. This includes organisation and support of committees and processes relating to assessment, student and course records.

The role holder must be efficient, organised and take great care in attention to detail. In addition, the role requires interaction with many people within and external to UCL thus a professional attitude, willingness to help and a positive outlook are required in order to adequately execute the duties outlined.

About you

The UCL Institute of Finance and Technology (IFT) is keen to receive applications from candidates from a higher education or other learning environment with expertise in course or programme administration.

Collaboration and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders is at the heart of this role and as such it is essential that you can demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to staff and students in a teaching and learning context. Technically it is essential that you can demonstrate proficient IT skills and the ability to learn and use new systems quickly, including UCL\xe2\x80\x99s Portico system. As a strong communicator, it is essential that you can show an effective aptitude to communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats.

It is essential that you have the ability to prioritise and organise own workload and to work under pressure particularly when dealing with high volumes of processing. The successful candidate will be self sufficient and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be expected to work with a high attention to detail and within tight timeframes.
