Overview
Element Digital Engineering is a leading provider of specialist engineering simulation, design, and consultancy support to clients across many industries - including Aerospace, Automotive, Energy, Built Environment and Chemical Process - in the UK and internationally. As a part of our team, you will play a central role in providing our clients with design support and verification services, operational troubleshooting, and technical safety assessments.
We are looking to recruit a SeniorTechnical Author to work on a range of projects across several different industries (aero, defence and others) and to support the growth of our in-house capability. This position will involve the creation and update of various technical publications working to the industry specification and standards. This position is Hybrid role - Mainly home working, with Wimborne or Bristol office attendance as required.
Responsibilities

• To support and develop complex engineering descriptive and procedural documentation for Teir 1 OEM suppliers including user guides, manuals and other technical documentation
• Research, interpret, and create new and amended textual data and images for technical publications/data modules/IPC/CMM.
• Act as the Point-of-Contact and expertise for Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure Technical Publication requirements are understood and accounted for across the engineering development lifecycle
• Maintain product and service quality and ensure delivery within budget and timescalesCollaborate with Customers, Suppliers, and Engineering/Support staff at all levels across multi discipline engineering teams
• Willingness to travel within the UK.

Skills / Qualifications

• Experience of desktop publishing software e.g. FrameMaker, Eagle, ArbortextAbility to work with new Publishing production tools and processes including SGML and XML
• Proven aerospace engineering experience, preferably in a Military context
• Highly developed skill in applying the English Language, including Simplified English
• Working knowledge of S2000MKnowledge and experience of S3000L
• Practical experience of mechanical engineering and technical authorship
• Creation of technical illustrations to the required is desirable but not essential
