Ipeco Holdings Limited was founded in 1960. More than 50 years on it is still a privately owned UK company. We are engaged in the design, development, manufacture and test of niche products for the aerospace and defence industries. Principal products include aircraft crew seating, executive passenger seating, galley inserts, salt bath brazed chassis and electronic power management systems.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:



To create and maintain component maintenance manuals for aircraft seating and galley products.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:



To create and maintain technical publications, including Component Maintenance Manuals and Illustrated Parts Catalogues, for Ipeco seating and galley products. To understand and comply with industry standards (e.g., ATA Spec 100, ATA iSpec 2200, S1000D and Simplified Technical English), customer requirements and Ipeco's quality standards. To revise Component Maintenance Manuals and Illustrated Parts Catalogues, e.g., to incorporate design modifications or changes resulting from customer review. To create illustrations, using CAD data, for technical publications. To proofread draft technical publications. To support the electronic distribution of technical publications, within Ipeco and to customers. To liaise with technical publications subcontractors regarding content and formatting of technical publications. To help maintain a high standard of housekeeping. To support team members with other tasks as and when necessary. To help create and maintain a safe working environment and observe the published Health and Safety procedures. To carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:



Experience working within a technical, engineering, or manufacturing organisation Strong formatting, writing, editing, and proofreading skills with high attention to detail Ability to organise and structure content to improve clarity, accuracy, and readability Experience in researching, collating, and interpreting technical information from multiple sources Ability to identify and resolve inconsistencies or errors in text and graphical content Proficient on IT systems, including MS Office Flexible approach to tasks Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:



Educated to 'A' Level standard (or equivalent) at grades A-C for a minimum of 3 'A' Levels Educated to a National Certificate standard (or equivalent) in Design/Engineering Practical experience in an engineering or maintenance environment Experience preparing technical publications within the aerospace industry Familiarity with industry standards and specifications such as iSpec 2200 and S1000D Experience using structured authoring tools, ideally Adobe FrameMaker Experience producing technical illustrations using 2D illustration software (e.g. IsoDraw) Experience in creating and maintaining databases (e.g. Access, SQL) to support data control and reporting Experience writing technical documentation in accordance with Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE100)
