Are you a highly skilled Technical Engineer with a passion for standby power generation projects? Do you thrive on designing robust solutions and seeing them through to successful delivery?
Pharos Generator services part of the RSK Group are a well-established and growing UK business specialising in standby generator solutions, with a strong reputation for both maintenance and project delivery. Our projects division is experiencing significant growth, and we are looking for a talented Senior Technical Engineer to be a key part of our expansion.
The Opportunity:
This is a pivotal role where you will be the technical authority for our generator projects. Working closely with our Project Manager and sales team, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing bespoke standby generator solutions: From initial concept to detailed specifications, ensuring compliance with UK regulations (BS 7671, G99) and client requirements.
  • Producing comprehensive quotations: Translating technical designs into clear, accurate, and commercially viable proposals.
  • Providing expert technical support: Assisting project engineers and customers with complex technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Driving technical excellence: Maintaining and developing our technical standards, documentation, and RAMS templates.
  • You will benefit from a structured handover period with our retiring Technical Manager, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of knowledge.
What We're Looking For:
We need an experienced professional with a proven background in standby generator systems. You'll have a deep understanding of LV electrical power distribution, controls, and integration. Your ability to conduct site surveys, interpret client needs, and translate them into practical, compliant designs will be crucial.

We specialise in supplying, installing, commissioning, repairing and servicing diesel backup and emergency-power systems. Many organisations are relying on diesel generators for backup power. Our ambition is to explore how renewables and battery storage could be an alternative in certain situations. This transition will position PGS as an established provider of backup power supplies, thereby enabling our expansion in the UK and abroad.
