A Senior Technician - Roads vacancy has arisen within the Highways Technical Services section, where the successful candidate will be required to assist in the provision of a high quality Highways Infrastructure Service.
You must hold an ONC/OND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and have knowledge of highway infrastructure maintenance issues. Ideally you will be working towards an HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline and have knowledge of highway asset management principles
The duties and main functions of the role will include:
assisting in the preparation and delivery of the ongoing Highway Improvement Programme
preparation and maintenance of works drawings and notices
to monitor financial and measurement information for schemes and update the database records accordingly
Development, co-ordination and implementation of highway and structures maintenance programmes.
Undertake site surveys, inspections and measurements.
Update computerised mapping systems and databases
Assist the Senior Engineer - Roads to manage assets associated with the highway network
To ensure that complaints, queries and requests for service are responded to in accordance with Council Policy and direction.
To carry out health and safety responsibilities in accordance with the Divisions procedures
