We have an exciting vacancy for a Senior Technologist in our Supply Chain Team. The vacancy covers both Soft & Hard Goods.
This is a 16-month maternity cover with the possibility of a permanent contract at the end of it.
We are looking for experienced candidates with a sound knowledge of compliance, testing, and legislation so, if you have the technical expertise of home consumer products, a keen analytical mind, and the ability to manage the technical development of new products, then you'll absolutely want to keep on reading....!
The role....
You will report directly into the Buying Director
You'll be working closely alongside the Supply Chain and Product Development Teams, using your extensive technical knowledge and skills to provide support and ensure product development is meeting Riva's standards for quality and value - as well as adhering to legal and industry standards.
You'll play a key role at every stage of the process, from organising supplier audits and managing the technical development of new products and ranges through to developing that range along the technical critical path.
You'll also take responsibility for analysing product test data, to approving the range, before working with the Product Development Teams to progress development and agree a critical path.
You will work closely with our retail customer's technologist teams to ensure we're meeting and exceeding the standards they expect for both own-label and branded products.
Finally you'll ensure the products are prepared for launch and that all areas of the business receive the necessary samples and information. You'll also carefully manage new products in-season, following up with issues, analysing returns data and carrying out store visits and supplier factory evaluations.
You will help develop and build out Riva's sustainability strategy to ensure we're at the forefront of this.
About you...
You'll have experience in a similar role with a wealth of technical knowledge of home consumer products and the ability to communicate it in a clear and compelling way across the business.
You'll also be highly analytical and able to accurately interpret data from across the business. A natural problem solver, you'll be able to make a logical and inventive contribution to the design and development process, as well as expertly manage the technology critical path for development.
You'll also have a keen eye for detail and be able to ensure the quality and compliance of all products.
You'll have a commercial approach to product sourcing and approval to work out how we continue to bring incredible product to market while meeting all product quality and legislative requirements
Skills and/or qualifications:
Applied technical knowledge of multiple Home product categories including furniture construction and performance
A sound knowledge of Hard & Soft good compliance, testing, and legislation
Solid manufacturing AND sourcing knowledge is required
Highly organised with good prioritisation skills.
Confident and clear communication skills; both verbal and written to work productively alongside product teams and external suppliers.
Product manufacturing experience is an advantage.
