Static Band 4 Neurology :

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a S tatic Band 4 Senior Therapy T echnician post within a faced paced team at UHNM . The post will be based within the Neurology and Neurosurgery team at the Royal Stoke Hospital. Patients include the neurological, acute and chronic respiratory, multi pathology / complex patients, cognitively and perceptually impaired.



All Therapy Technicians are trained to have dual competencies in both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy and will work closely with the Senior Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapy Team.



The post holder will work closely with the Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Multidisciplinary team, to ensure patients receive timely i nterventions and safe supported discharge from hospital .

Main duties of the job :

The successful applicant will work wit h Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists , providing Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy interventions under the direction of a qualified staff .



To work independently but alongside the qualified team in assessing transfers, functional tasks, managing cognitive patients.



To be involved in assessing and therapeutic interventions with patients with cognitive difficulties with support from qualified OT when needed



Be able to escalate issues with patients if not progressing appropriately to qualified therapists as required .



Will be expected to participate in supervising and mentoring rotational therapy technicians .



To participate in the training of rotational members of staff as part of the in - service training programme.
