Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver "better trained sailors to the front line faster".




The purpose of this role is to provide the delivery of Basic Engineering Principles and Maintenance Procedures to RN students on their Phase 3 career courses across the 4 cadres of the WE department.




This role is offered on a term time basis working 44/45 weeks per year, with non-working weeks taken X weeks at Christmas and Easter and X weeks in August. The salary will therefore be pro rata'd and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.




Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.

What you'll be doing

Deliver primarily training on Basic Engineering Principles, Procedures and Practices in support of RN Weapon Engineering (WE) Department. Work collaboratively with Learning & Development, the Training Delivery staff to identify and support a personalised approach to learning and development. Use performance data and insights to drive continuous improvement across training establishments. Identify and share best practices to enhance training quality and consistency across locations. Implement standardised systems and processes for delivering training across all RN establishments. Ensure training KPIs and SLAs are met, including for simulated and synthetic learning programmes.

What we're looking for

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications

Proven background in Engineering with Experience in engineering maintenance systems. Team player with experience leading and collaborating cross-team to ensure the successful delivery of training. Experience working with Mid-level stakeholders.

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

Level 3 teaching certificate or equivalent (will be enrolled onto internal training course if not held). Understanding RN, Engineering departmental workings or equivalent experience. Understanding Engineering maintenance procedures. Experience in WE Engineering Maintenance Administration systems (UMMS). An understanding of military Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) organisation

About Selborne

Selborne is a wide scale, 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. The consortia of partners known as Team Fisher includes Raytheon UK, Fujitsu and University of Lincoln together with 14 other UK-based suppliers.
