Routescape is a dynamic and rapidly expanding luxury tailor-made travel company that prides itself on creating unique and exceptional journeys for our predominantly US based clients. Originally focussed on Great Britain and Ireland, we are now expanding to offer mainland Europe, initially in France and Italy.
This role will be part of the Travel Sales Team, which tailor-make trips for clients travelling to the Great Britain, Ireland, France and Italy.
Passionate about inspiring your clients with outstanding travel advice and exceptional customer service, you will be highly motivated and ambitious individual in this multi-faceted role with a high personal touch. You will manage the end-to-end client journey from initial enquiry, timely pricing and proposal turnaround, through to a detailed final itinerary. You will work with our operations team to ensure a smooth operation of each trip and be on hand to assist our clients whilst they are travelling. This role requires a high level of organisation, attention to detail and an ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
You will have a strong and successful background in Sales. Travel experience is desirable, however a passion for travel is essential.
This role will be
fully office based
in our beautiful office in Pembroke, opposite the world-renowned Pembroke Castle. Please do not apply if you are looking for a hybrid/ remote working opportunity.
Key responsibilities include:
Meeting or exceeding personal and team sales targets and key performance metrics (which will include conversion, turnaround times, sales margins and other targets).
Following up on incoming and existing enquiries and contacting clients to have detailed conversations to establish their travel preferences and build a relationship.
Design accurate, competitive, and engaging itineraries featuring the right hotels, guides, and experiences reflecting client requirements.
Apply strong sales skills and proven techniques across phone, messages, and email to convert client interest into bookings.
Serve as the client's main contact from initial enquiry through to deposit, then support the Operations team during delivery where your expertise or client relationship adds value.
Maintaining regular contact with clients over the phone or email or to ensure any changes and operational issues are communicated.
Maintaining a positive relationship and strong lines of communication with all suppliers.
Working closely with our operations team to ensure all components of the itinerary are clear and booked correctly
Pricing each itinerary accurately, competitively and to the required level of quality in line with our Routescape brand expectations within our standard timeframe.
To actively investigate new products and opportunities to achieve greater sales to existing and new clients and to share with the wider team.
To become an expert on our tour operating and itinerary building software, Peak 15. Ensure all of the updates for your clients are defined in a timely manner within Peak 15.
To be prepared to work shifts and additional hours during peak selling period and be flexible at other times as our clientele are US based
To be on call as part of an agreed duty rota to cover out of hours and weekends when our clients are travelling (additional payment)
General office duties such as answering telephone etc.
Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Manager/Supervisor

A successful candidate will ideally have:
A strong and demonstrable track record in sales, preferably in a travel or luxury sales setting. Experience of working with US clients would be an advantage.
Genuine passion and enthusiasm about travel and experiences.
Extensive first-hand knowledge of arranging tailormade travel
Fluency in French or Italian would be an advantage
The ability to work independently in a methodical way to given timescales in a fast-paced environment.
Exemplary time management skills and organisation skills with an ability to work well under pressure.
A confident and clear verbal and written communicator with a high level of attention to detail.?
A high level of numeracy and experience of putting together detailed pricing proposals
Experience in delivering outstanding customer service.
First class sales skills with experience in following up warm sales leads.
Strong technical skills with a comprehensive understanding of MS Word, Excel and Outlook and experience of tour itinerary management software.
Confidence to liaise, negotiate and make bookings with hotels, attractions, guides and small tour operators whilst also being the customer's single point of contact.
Naturally empathetic, with a mature style and approach that can confidently and quickly build strong relationships with clients with high expectations.
A positive, proactive attitude, with strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability and be a team player.
