Insurance & Assistance
Strategic acquisitions, brand rationalisations and complete re-launches in the last 18 months have marked the start of an incredibly exciting period of growth and further investment within the Insurance and Assistance capability for the group. A forward-thinking, customer-centric approach, coupled with innovative insurance and assistance solutions will deliver significant growth over the coming three years. Today, we have retail, wholesale, underwriting and operational interests in the UK, mainland Europe, Australia, South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore and the USA.
We deliver white-label or co-branded solutions for Travel, International Health and Personal Accident as well as Ancillary Motor, Home Emergency and Dental cover. The role:
At Collinson, we're passionate about protecting travellers and creating innovative insurance products that make a difference. We're seeking a Senior Travel Underwriter to join our growing team and help manage one of the UK's largest travel insurance portfolios - while expanding our global footprint.
In this senior role, you'll take ownership of underwriting performance, develop market-leading products, and collaborate across the business to drive profitable growth.
What you'll do

• Manage the underwriting performance of Collinson's travel insurance portfolio.
• Work with Actuarial teams to ensure accurate reserving and IBNR calculations.
• Collaborate with Pricing Analysts to build and refine pricing models.
• Support Business Development in designing innovative, customer-centric products.
• Evolve policy wordings to meet both regulatory and customer expectations.
• Analyse underwriting results, sales performance and claims data to propose improvements.
• Engage with reinsurance partners and distribution channels to support growth.
• Use insights from claims and assistance data to reduce losses and improve service delivery.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of underwriting experience, with at least 3 years in travel insurance.
• Strong understanding of the UK and European travel insurance markets.
• Proven track record of driving underwriting profitability and portfolio growth.
• Analytical mindset with excellent Excel and reporting skills.
• Experience with pricing tools such as Emblem or Alteryx is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to balance commercial goals with sound underwriting judgement.
