Description

Senior Trust & Corporate Accountant

Location: Central London (SW1)

Employment type: Full-time, permanent

Confidential - Private Family Office

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and discreet Senior Trust & Corporate Accountant to join a private family office in central London. This is a senior role with responsibility for trust, corporate, property and investment accounting, ensuring accuracy, compliance and the highest standards of integrity.

What makes this opportunity unique is the breadth of exposure you'll gain. As part of a small, agile team, you'll be closely involved in all aspects of the office - from the genesis of investment ideas through to reporting results back to the family. You'll work directly with the CFO, COO and CEO, contributing not only to day-to-day accounting but also to the family's longer-term goals around succession, modernisation and organisational excellence.

This is more than an accounting role. It's a chance to play a key part in the continued success of the family office: helping to safeguard its identity, create value every day, and strive to make the organisation better year after year.###

Key Responsibilities

Full ownership of trust, corporate and property accounting, including reconciliations, distributions, capital adjustments and inter-trust transfers. Preparation of financial statements in line with trust deeds, corporate requirements and accounting standards. Oversight of UK operating company accounts, payroll and benefits administration. Transactional accounting across investment companies, including preparation of investment instructions and review of valuations with external managers. Production of investment reports, cash flow forecasts, performance analyses and scenario modelling. Compliance with fiduciary, tax, audit and regulatory requirements in the UK and Channel Islands. Liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel and regulators. Strengthening of internal controls, policies and workflows to reduce risk and enhance efficiency. Contribution to system and process improvements, including implementing new accounting or reporting software. Providing clear, concise advice and reports for trustees, beneficiaries and senior stakeholders.

###

About You

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting expertise. Significant experience in trust, fiduciary or private client accounting, ideally with corporate and investment exposure. Strong knowledge of UK trust and estate taxation, fiduciary law, audits and accounting standards. Proficient with accounting systems, reporting tools and Excel. Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to reconcile complex financial data. Exceptional discretion and professionalism. Strong communicator, able to simplify technical information for non-specialists. Collaborative and confident working across trustees, beneficiaries, auditors and advisors.

Desirable:

Family office or wealth management experience, exposure to multi-jurisdictional trust structures, and a keen interest in process improvement or automation.###

Why join us

This is a rare opportunity to step into a specialist role at the heart of a discreet and well-established family office in central London. The work is varied and intellectually stimulating, with exposure to complex trust structures and investment arrangements that will challenge and develop your expertise. You'll have genuine ownership of the trust accounting function, with the autonomy to shape processes and strengthen controls, while still being part of a collaborative and supportive team.

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone is valued and supported to succeed. If you feel you have the skills, knowledge and experience, and want to play a key part in managing and overseeing trust accounts within a single-family office, please apply today.

All applications will be treated with the strictest confidentiality - application deadline is Monday 20th October.
