Senior User

Worthing, West Sussex - Pevensey, East Sussex, United Kingdom

Job Description

In the face of the climate and nature emergency, our role is to help make people and communities resilient to a future with more frequent and more extreme flooding.

We are one of the largest flood defence projects in the country, looking to invest over a hundred million pounds to better protect more than 10,000 homes, businesses, and significant infrastructure from flooding, erosion and the climate emergency.

Help us to deliver more than just a flood defence, by working with partners to deliver placemaking opportunities for the local area. We aim to deliver a legacy for communities across the Pevensey Bay and Eastbourne area and make sure they are adaptable and resilient to the climate emergency over the next 100 years.

We are looking for a Senior User to drive the project forward, work with our stakeholders and partners to help unlock our wider aspirations. Our ambition is to work wider than just our project space, to drive innovation and bring in international best practice. You will be empowered to make this a reality.

The project team is mainly located in our Worthing office, but frequent (at least twice a week) travel to the Pevensey and Eastbourne area is needed, with the occasional evening meeting.

Responding to incidents is also a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

The team

You will be part of our client-side team (6 people), where we focus on; coastal protection, environmental improvements and delivering a legacy to be proud of.

  • Extensive experience in working within a project team where you have engaged and influenced other internal teams, supply chain and partners to deliver a successful project to time and budget is essential
The following are desirable but not essential:
  • Experience in the area of flood risk
  • Experience in identifying and developing innovative solutions
  • An understanding of; planning, regeneration and how local authorities work and deliver in a wider context
You\'ll need a full UK driving license to carry out this role.
