Overview


We are seeking an experienced UX Designer to join Heyoo on a part time contract basis, supporting client projects 1 to 2 days per week. This role replaces our senior UX designer and will work closely with our strategy, development and client teams.

This is a hands on role suited to an experienced Senior User Experience Designer to lead the design and optimisation of digital products and services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in user-centred design principles, front-end development, and data visualisation.

This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create engaging, intuitive, and accessible user interfaces that meet business requirements and enhance overall user satisfaction. The Senior UX Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience strategy across multiple platforms, ensuring consistency and excellence in design execution.

Responsibilities



Lead the end-to-end user experience design process, from requirements gathering through to user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing. Develop detailed wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs using tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, InVision, or Zeplin. Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into innovative UX solutions aligned with product development cycles (SDLC). Conduct user research and analysis to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement; utilise data analysis skills and tools like Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics. Create information architecture that supports responsive web design principles for seamless experiences across devices. Apply interaction design best practices and design patterns to optimise usability and accessibility standards. Develop prototypes demonstrating interaction flows using tools such as Axure or Balsamiq; incorporate feedback from user acceptance testing to refine designs. Ensure adherence to front-end development standards including HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React), Bootstrap, SCSS, Less (style sheet language), Redux, APIs, and WordPress integrations. Maintain awareness of emerging trends in digital design, UI/UX methodologies, and new technologies such as AWS or Unreal Engine for immersive experiences. Document design specifications and collaborate with developers during implementation to ensure fidelity to original concepts.

Skills



Extensive experience with UX/UI design tools including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, Sketch, InVision, Zeplin. Strong understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS (including SCSS/Less), JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React), Bootstrap. Proven ability in wireframing, prototyping, information architecture optimisation, and interaction design. Knowledge of SDLC processes and requirements gathering techniques. Expertise in data visualisation techniques using tools like Tableau or Power BI; familiarity with SQL for data analysis is advantageous. Experience conducting user research and usability testing; familiarity with tools like Qualtrics or UserTesting platforms. Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics or Omniture for analysing user behaviour insights. Strong analysis skills combined with business requirements understanding to inform design decisions. Knowledge of APIs integration and experience working within Agile environments using Jira or SharePoint for project management. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Pay: 7,200.00-14,400.00 per year
