The Opportunity / Who We Seek:
We are looking for an accomplished leader to join our team and run the automation and process enhancement agenda across Business Continuity Management and the broader Risk Management functions.
This role has a strong technical focus and reports into our Chief Information Security Officer but will shape and drive the technical strategy across all teams within the Group Risk organisation, which include Business Continuity Management, Information Security, Enterprise Risk Management, Data Governance and Internal Audit.
Our teams have grown successfully and organically over time, as have the processes and technology that support them. The remit of this role will be, as a priority, to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the firm's Business Continuity Management technology, ensuring it is robust, comprehensive and future proofed.
Additionally, the role will advance the firm's resilience, recovery, and resolution programme on a global scale, developing and implementing the firm's strategy to enhance our ability to respond to and recover from disruptions, particularly by through use of enhanced technology.
The role will also be responsible for designing and implementing an efficient and effective controls framework for the BCM, InfoSec, Risk, Audit, and Data Governance teams. This will involve utilising advanced technology, including workflow tools, to streamline processes and enhance control mechanisms, continuously monitoring and improving the controls framework to ensure it remains effective and aligned with the firm's objectives. This will include assessing the current technology and process stack across the teams, identifying areas for improvement and implementing innovative solutions, including AI, RPA, and business process engineering, to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.
This will be a single contributor role initially but may have direct reports at a later stage.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Continuity Management process and system enhancement
Build out of broader resilience, recovery and resolution thinking and programme execution on a global basis, but considering the evolving regulatory requirements incorporated in consultation papers offered by CIMA in Cayman and the BMA in Bermuda
Controls Framework: Design and implement an efficient and effective controls framework for the Risk teams including use of advanced technology, including workflow tools, to streamline processes and enhance control mechanisms.
Assess the current technology and process stack across the risk teams, identifying and implementing areas for improvement. Implement innovative solutions, including AI, RPA, and business process engineering, to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.
What You Bring:
A strong track record in technical analysis, strategic planning, and execution.
Extensive experience in working with and influencing senior colleagues and management across a global organisation in executing technology-driven change.
Demonstrable expertise in business continuity management, information security, and broader risk management.
A deep understanding of existing and emerging technologies, particularly AI, RPA, business process engineering, reporting, and risk management technology.
Strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to flex and adapt to a range of business needs and expectations.
Tenacity and the ability to work in a high-paced and ever-evolving environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
Professional certifications in Business Continuity Management, Risk Management, or Information Security (e.g., CBCP, CRISC, CISSP) are highly desirable.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role within a large, global ideally financial services or legal organisation.
