As a member of our Anti-Infectives team you\xe2\x80\x99ll use your technical experience and knowledge of virology, molecular biology, cell biology, and disease mechanisms to design and perform assays to assess anti-viral activity and mode of action. The successful candidate will coordinate and prioritize project work to generate and deliver robust data packages under tight timelines. This role will play a key part in directing operational and experimental activities and will collaborate within cross-functional and across multidisciplinary teams.

Role responsibilities:

  • Design and perform assays to test antiviral activity, cytotoxicity, mechanism of action.
  • Keep abreast of scientific/ technological development by participating in scientific meetings/ seminars and through regular scientific review.
  • Direct assay development initiatives to enhance and progress Anti-Infective project goals.
  • Ensure accurate, timely entries are made in e-laboratory notebook system according to accepted good practice. In addition, compile and prepare technical reports in relation to project work.
  • Present results in internal meetings, scientific conferences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within Anti-Infectives and Medicine Design.
Qualifications:
  • PhD in Virology, Molecular biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, or other biology related discipline with moderate of virology experience.
  • MSc with strong or BSc with extensive experience of virology related experience in academia, a biotech and/or a pharmaceutical environment. Equivalent relevant professional experience will be considered.
Technical skills:
  • Proven technical expertise in cell culture and virology in a BSL-2 lab environment and related regulatory knowledge.
  • Experience in virology, immunology, cell biology and assay development. Experience in inhibitor studies is preferred.
  • Proven delivery of objectives in a complex matrix environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
