Overview


As a Senior WAC Playworker, you will play a pivotal role in creating an engaging and safe environment for children to explore, learn, and grow during school wraparound care. You will lead activities that foster creativity, teamwork, and social skills while ensuring that all play experiences are inclusive and enriching. Your expertise will guide our team in delivering exceptional programming that meets the diverse needs of our children. This role will involve a mixture of breakfast and afterschool clubs,

What you'll do



Design and implement dynamic play programs that encourage children's physical, emotional, and social development. Supervise daily activities and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all participants. Collaborate with fellow playworkers to create a cohesive team atmosphere focused on positive outcomes for children. Monitor and evaluate children's progress, providing feedback to parents and caregivers as needed. Engage with children in meaningful ways to promote their confidence and self-esteem through play. Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and program evaluations using financial software as necessary. Foster relationships with families and the community to enhance program visibility and participation.

Basic qualifications



Experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting. Aminimum level 2 in Education or childcare required.

Preferred qualifications



Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in playwork. First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
