We are seeking a Senior Young Carers Practitioner who will help lead our service offer to young carers and their families, alongside a team of practitioners to ensure high standards of delivery and impact.
Family Action have delivered the Young Carers service since 2011 and are an established provider within the sector. We operate a whole family approach to working, with the child, young people or young adults being at the center of the support.
Main Responsibilities:
Completing Young Carers Needs Assessment or Young Adult Carers Assessment which will inform a package of support which is tailored to the young person and their family's specific needs. Delivering that support in a flexible and effective manner.
Line managing 2-3 Young Carers Practitioners within the team and deputising for the Service Manager where appropriate
Leading on training, to raise awareness of the challenges young carers face, and development for the service to ensure high standards of delivery within the team

Enthusiasm, a creative approach to work and an ability to engage positively with a wide range of people and ages.
Knowledge of a young carers and their needs
Experience of previously managing, supervising or mentoring staff/volunteers
A sound knowledge of child/young adult development, safeguarding, and the assessment process
Qualified to a level 4 or above with a qualification in social work, health, education or a similar field, or equivalent experience of work in this sector.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in lead professional roles is desirable.
Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
