Senior Youth Leader - Wraparound Care (Breakfast & After School)

Contract:

Casual, Part-time

Hours:

Variable - availability required for Breakfast Club (7:15am - 8:15am) and After School Club (3:00pm - 6:00pm), during term time

Location:

Kimpton, Thruxton and Fyfield C of E Primary School, SP11 8NT

Start Date:

Immediate

Pay:

20.00 per hour (including holiday pay)

The Position



This exciting and diverse role will see the Senior Youth Leader take responsibility for overseeing the successful delivery of

wraparound care provision

at Kimpton, Thruxton and Fyfield C of E Primary School. You will supervise, support, and mentor staff members and young people, while ensuring children enjoy a safe, engaging, and positive start and end to their school day.

Primary Responsibilities



Supervise, support, and mentor staff members and young people during wraparound care delivery. Lead and engage children in a range of structured and free-play activities before and after school. Provide oversight of food and snacks in line with food hygiene standards. Manage registration of young people, ensuring medical information, allergies, and individual needs are known and communicated to staff. Act as the first point of contact for parents/guardians at drop-off and pick-up, ensuring clear and professional communication. Supervise and manage any concerns, escalating if required, in line with Personal Best policies and procedures. Ensure children are safe, happy, and supported throughout the sessions. Liaise with Personal Best Education core staff, school staff, and the Designated Safeguarding Lead where needed. Ensure all staff comply with Personal Best Education's Code of Conduct and safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety policies. Facilitate regular briefings with staff members to achieve aims, objectives, and outcomes. Oversee the use of resources, ensuring safe storage and reporting any damage or issues promptly.

Skills & Experience



Essential:



Strong understanding and experience of safeguarding. Experience of risk management and handling confidential information. Experience working with children, young people, local communities, or charitable causes. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to lead a team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to motivate and encourage others to overcome boundaries. Ability to handle sensitive information in line with GDPR and Personal Best Education policies. Understanding of working with diverse community groups.

Attributes & Knowledge



Essential:



Passion for working with children/young people and supporting their personal development. Flexible and adaptable approach. Knowledge of Personal Best Education. Full UK Driving Licence. First Aid certificate. Qualification in, or working towards, early years/play work/youth work/teaching/coaching (or a subject related to young people).
