Key Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in the lives of our young residents. Your responsibilities will include:
Support young people with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, laundry, and household chores.
Promote independence by coaching young people in budgeting, shopping, and developing essential life skills.
Work as a key worker for allocated residents, ensuring consistent support, completing key work sessions, and maintaining accurate support plans.
Ensure that all young people are supported to engage in education, employment or training, and accompany them to school or college if needed.
Monitor and support the emotional wellbeing of residents, providing a listening ear, emotional support, and referrals to mental health services.
Manage health and medical needs by ensuring GP/dental registration and accompanying young people to medical appointments when needed.
Promote a safe environment by adhering to safeguarding protocols, observing for concerns, and reporting in line with the safeguarding policy.
Implement and record structured daily routines, including wake-up times, meal preparation, personal care routines, and bedtime routines.
Facilitate social, cultural, and recreational activities both in-house and in the community to promote social inclusion.
Support behaviour management in a fair, respectful manner, addressing incidents and implementing consequences as per policies.
Conduct room checks when necessary in accordance with room search procedures and ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
Promote internet safety and manage mobile phone use according to age and risk assessments.
Requirements
Minimum 1 year experience in similar setting.
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Enhanced DBS and right to work in the UK.
Flexible with shifts including sleep-ins and weekends.
Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract
Pay: 175.00-185.00 per day
