Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and proactive SEO & AI Search Optimisation Specialist to join MGN Builders Merchants. This is a key role in driving our digital growth -- improving our organic traffic, strengthening AI search citations (Google SGE, ChatGPT, Perplexity), and ensuring MGN is ahead of search trends.

The ideal candidate will be data-driven, detail-oriented, and hungry to learn. You will work closely with our Marketing Department to optimise product/category pages, strengthen website search, and deliver measurable SEO improvements that directly contribute to sales and brand visibility.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct ongoing SEO audits using Ahrefs, GSC, and related tools, identifying and resolving issues (crawl errors, duplicate content, indexing problems). Optimise product and category pages (titles, descriptions, metadata, schema, attributes, internal linking). Rewrite content flagged as "AI-written" to ensure originality, brand consistency, and ranking strength. Research and implement AI search optimisation strategies -- ensuring MGN is cited in Google SGE, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other emerging AI-driven search engines. Manage backlink building campaigns to increase domain authority. Track keyword rankings and traffic, reporting progress weekly and monthly. Collaborate with the marketing team on seasonal campaigns, landing pages, and content strategies. Stay up to date with SEO and AI search trends, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

Skills & Requirements

2 -3 years of hands-on SEO experience (e-commerce preferred). Strong knowledge of SEO tools: Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, GA4. Familiarity with AI search engines and optimisation for AI citations (desirable, but training can be provided). Understanding of structured data, schema, and technical SEO basics. Strong research skills and attention to detail. Proactive mindset -- able to identify opportunities and drive improvements independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
